Sunday Nov 3rd is Orphan Sunday, a day dedicated to the plight of the orphan. We feel called at Jake’s Diapers to make a difference in the life of a child, one cloth diaper at a time. We are asking you to prayerfully consider doing an Orphan Sunday Collection Challenge to help us help the babies in need. We ask that you speak with your church, and collect urgently needed items the weekend of November 3rd. Urgently needed items include modern cloth diapers, cloth wipes, blankets, baby bottles, powdered formula, baby powder, coconut oil and other rash creams, pillowcases (to be made into pillowcase dresses and shorts), and if you are local to Eastern Wisconsin, suitcases or duffel bags (used to transport items, as all items are hand delivered to babies in need). Items can be new or used.
We will then take these urgent needs and match them up with babies in need, wherever they may be. Monetary donations are also welcome, and will be put towards shipping and urgent needs purchases. We will cheerfully provide brochures, which can be distributed the weekend of October 27th to teach people about Jake’s Diapers and the Orphan Sunday Collection Challenge. Then, the weekend of the 3rd, place a donation box in an easily accessible church location. If you are local to Eastern Wisconsin, we can arrange a pick up time, otherwise we can coordinate shipping. God’s Blessings.
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27.
